Trek to the Everest

Over the Christmas period our CASS Analyst Vijay Patel embarked upon a 15 day trek to the Everest base camp in memory of his younger brother. Tackling altitudes shy of 18,000 ft and temperatures as low as -20 degrees, Vijay raised just over £2,000 for Epilepsy Society, a charity that conducts world class medical research projects, whilst diagnosing and treating thousands of people with epilepsy every year.

Vijay comments “Thank you to all those who supported and sponsored me through what was one of the most physically draining and emotionally charged events I have had the pleasure in taking part. It was truly a memorable experience.”

This is the 5th year in a row that the CAM team, along with hundreds of other supporters, participated in the fun run to raise funds for WCRF UK, which is the principal UK charity dedicated to the prevention of cancer through the promotion of healthy diet and nutrition, physical activity and weight management.
Since we have participated, the CAM Banana Chasers have raised over £3,000 for the World Cancer Research Fund. A very big thank you on behalf of the CAM Banana Chasers!
