Nick Coghill

Nick Coghill

Chief Executive Officer

Nick, a qualified accountant, has worked in the finance and investment industry for over 20 years and joined City Asset Management in 2012 as CEO. Previously Nick was a Managing Director in Morgan Stanley’s Equity division and Co-Head of the Europe and Middle East region for derivative sales where he built a highly successful team, working mostly with wealth management and retail businesses. At CAM, Nick focuses on both the day to day management of the firm and also the strategic development of the business and the growth of our client base. Nick also sits on the FCA Smaller Business Practitioner Panel representing the investment management sector.


Hilary Coghill

Chief Investment Officer

Hilary began her career by working as a medical researcher for a number of highly regarded pharmaceutical companies. During her 20 year career in investment management, Hilary has developed particular specialities in collective investments, offshore products and trust vehicles. She has an admirable reputation within the industry for her expertise, and participates in many conferences alongside other leading investment management professionals. A founding director of CAM, Hilary now works with the “second generation” of many of her clients, and enjoys maintaining strong personal relationships with them. Hilary is also a key part of the CAM Women’s Initiative.


James Calder

Research Director

James joined City Asset from Baring Asset Management where he managed several funds in his role as Head of Multi-Manager in 2009. This was preceded by periods at Berry Asset Management as their Head of Fund Research and BestInvest as a Senior Fund Research Analyst. Since joining CAM, James has taken responsibility for the direction and management of the investment process and chairs our asset allocation, portfolio construction and fund selection committees. In addition, James has launched the CAM Elite Funds and has been a driving force behind our platform offering.


David Willcox

David Willcox

Investment Director

David joined City Asset in 2004. He specialises in property investment research and manages the firm’s Small Cap (AIM) portfolio. He previously managed a family office owned firm who specialise in property asset management.


Mike Fitzhugh

Mike Fitzhugh

Investment Director

Mike has almost 30 years experience of managing investment portfolios for high net worth individuals, their trusts, pension funds and charities across all investment regimes and asset classes on behalf of both UK and international investors. In recent years he has focussed in particular on absolute return strategies and fixed income markets. Over the years he has worked in several international banks and investment companies based in London; these companies were typically smaller in size, and enabled a greater focus on client service, and also a greater degree of self determination in his career path, both factors which influenced his decision to join CAM in 2010.


Stephen Ford

Stephen Ford

Investment Director

Stephen has spent over 25 years in Financial Services having started his career with the Bradford & Bingley before moving to lead the Financial Services division at the Cumberland Building Society. Prior to joining City Asset Management in 2016, he was Head of Investment Management and an Executive Director of Brewin Dolphin PLC. He is a Chartered Wealth Manager and also holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Designation. He is a Non-Executive Director at Hertfordshire Catering Limited and sits on the Finance Committee for the Royal Hospital for Neuro-Disability.


Rebecca Fifield

Risk & Compliance Director

Rebecca has been a key member of the CAM team since 2007 having previously worked in the life insurance industry. Rebecca has worked in and overseen various aspects of our Operations, CASS and Risk Management functions during her career at CAM. Most recently, Rebecca has been appointed to the Board to head up the Risk & Compliance functions, facilitating the continued growth of our business within a strong regulatory and risk framework. Rebecca’s responsibilities also include those of Compliance Officer, Company Secretary, Money Laundering Reporting Officer and Data Protection Officer.


Chris Green

Chris Green

Head of Financial Planning

Chris is a Chartered Financial Planner with over 25 years experience in the industry, having held a number of senior management roles in leading Financial Advisory firms. He advises on a broad range of financial planning matters, including self-invested pension plans, retirement planning, pension transfers, and inheritance tax mitigation. Chris is responsible for overseeing CAM’s Financial Planning team and helps to build and maintain long-term working relationships with our clients.
