Kidz to Adultz - 17th May 2018 Farnborough
City Asset Management are pleased to be exhibiting at the forthcoming “Kidz to Adultz” event in Farnborough on the 17th May. This event is one of the largest, free UK exhibitions dedicated to children and young adults up to 25 years with disabilities and additional needs, their families, carers and the professionals who support them.
Unfortunately, every year thousands of people, many of them children, receive lump sum compensation following a serious accident or clinical negligence. Many will be awarded significant sums of money to pay for a lifetime of care, but not all will get the right financial advice to ensure their money is invested properly and not exhausted too quickly.
At City Asset Management all of our financial advisers are Chartered Financial Planners which is widely accepted as the 'gold standard' qualification for professional financial planners and financial advisers in the United Kingdom. Whilst there are many advisers who have good investment knowledge this may not be enough. Our specialists understand how damages are put together, how the Court of Protection works, how the benefits system and local authorities operate.
We believe that anyone likely to receive sums more than £20,000 should take advice before the money is paid as it is at this stage it is decided whether compensation will be paid as a lump sum or in regular chunks.
Furthermore, issues such as ring-fencing pay outs within a personal injury trust can ensure a person’s right to continue receiving benefits such as disabled person’s tax credits.
Please come and say hello if you are attending the event.
