Financial Planning Newsletter, June 2023

Now that tax year end seems like a distant memory, we bring you our latest quarterly newsletter with some interesting insights from both financial planning and investment management.

First, we’d like to thank everyone who joined us for our first ‘Meet the Manager’ webinar this quarter. Despite the inevitable technical glitch for our inaugural session, feedback has been positive following the event and we hope to repeat this for you on a regular basis. If you missed this the first time around, we’ve included a link below. If you’d like an up-to-date view from our Chief Investment Officer, James Calder, our ‘2023 - The Journey So Far and the Road Ahead’ piece takes a more detailed look at the tumultuous start to 2023, and where we see inflation and interest rates heading for the rest of the year.

We’ve also included articles on everything from why you might want to rethink your retirement plans following the March 2023 budget to an explanation of the difference between economies and markets. Our piece on Income Tax makes particularly interesting reading, and please do get in touch with the team if you want to review your income tax planning. And if you've been following the series of articles on Lasting Power of Attorney in recent newsletters, we've published the third part this quarter which explains how to set up this important document.

While there’s no substitute for one-to-one advice, we hope the news and insights we’ve selected to share are useful and help you organise your finances. And if you have any questions, please contact us by emailing fpteam@city-asset.co.uk.
