Executive Committee

The Executive Commitee meets monthly and is responsible for running the day-to-day business of the firm, as well as the execution of the Board strategy.

  • Nick Coghill - Chief Executive Officer

    Nick has spent the past decade successfully growing the business his father started over 30 years ago, while maintaining the culture of a staff and family-owned business. Prior to joining CAM, Nick was a Managing Director and co-Head of European equity derivatives at Morgan Stanley, and he also previously qualified as a chartered accountant. His wealth of experience makes him well-suited for his role as a member of the FCA Smaller Business Practitioner Panel, where he represents the investment management sector. In his spare time, Nick enjoys gardening, cooking (he will BBQ come rain or shine) and racquet sports. He’s recently discovered padel, a cross between tennis and squash, and is particularly proud of achieving a national padel ranking in 2021!

  • David Willcox

    David has worked at City Asset Management for over 15 years, where he is Investment Director. His role is to manage clients’ portfolios, provide input into investment processes and work with the financial planning team. He also runs the AIM portfolio service and provides input on real estate investments. David has always enjoyed helping our clients secure their financial futures and gets a strong sense of satisfaction in letting clients know they can achieve their goals. Outside of the office, David enjoys hill walking, cycling and martial arts.

  • Hilary Coghill

    One of City Asset Management’s original founders, Hilary has been with the firm for over 40 years. She is proud to have seen it develop into the successful company it is today, still co-owned by the founding partners and staff. She enjoys being involved in investment selection (most importantly to structure portfolios to maximise tax efficiency and meet clients’ aspirations) and is also a key part of our women’s initiative. Hilary began her career in medical research, before teaching science while living in Kuwait and raising her four children. Today, her nine grandchildren take up much of her attention outside work, but she also makes time for gardening and travel.

  • Rebecca Fifield

    Rebecca is our Risk and Compliance Director and has been a member of the board since 2014. She believes in helping members of staff navigate the various rules and regulations to do their jobs well, and work towards the best interests of our clients. Rebecca started her career in Colorado and joined City Asset Management in 2007 when she moved to the UK. She has worked in, and managed, various aspects of our operations, CASS and risk management functions, making her an invaluable and extremely knowledgeable part of our team. In her spare time, Rebecca enjoys reading, painting and walking her dog, Otis.

  • Jason Radford

    Jason is Financial Controller for CAM and is responsible for overseeing all accounting related activities, preparing financial analysis for the Board of Directors and maintaining internal controls. He has over 13 years’ industry experience, is part-qualified ACCA and holds a degree in Accounting & Finance from Bournemouth University. Outside of work, Jason is a keen supporter of Fulham Football Club, and he enjoys baking and running.

  • Chris Green

    Chris is responsible for overseeing the Financial Planning team and helping to build and maintain long-term working relationships with City Asset Management’s clients. He focuses on ‘goals-based’ planning and working with motivated individuals who are serious about managing their wealth. Chris has over 30 years’ experience as a financial planner, over 10 of which have been at City Asset Management. He is a member of the PFS and CISI and holds both chartered and certified financial planner qualifications. Chris enjoys being active in his spare time, and while he no longer plays rugby and football, he enjoys spectating. He is also learning to play the guitar.

  • Mike Fitzhugh

    As Investment Director, Mike’s role is to invest clients’ assets to give a long-term outcome appropriate to their needs. He became a member of the board in 2013. He brings almost 40 years’ experience to the team, having worked in several international banks and as Investment Director at Thornhill immediately before joining us in 2010. Even as an investment veteran, Mike still enjoys the challenge of markets and developing long-standing relationships with City Asset Management clients. His proudest achievement to date is raising a wonderful family and when they are not keeping him busy, he enjoys gardening, cycling and classic car restoration in his spare time.

  • Mark Rushton

    Mark joined City Asset Management in 2021 as Head of Investment Management. He brings a wealth of experience to our leadership team, with a career in finance that spans more than 35 years. This includes senior roles at UBS, Cazenove, BNP Paribas and Walker Crips Investment Management (where he was CIO and CEO). Mark also holds various Director and Trustee positions and is a member of the Councils of the University of Buckingham and Radley College. Still, his biggest achievement to date has been forming a band, “Eddy and the Errors”, as an appalling lead guitarist. In his spare time, Mark enjoys both real and lawn tennis, skiing and carpentry.

  • James Calder

    James joined City Asset Management in 2009 and is our Chief Investment Officer, where he is responsible for managing the investment process and chairing the asset allocation, portfolio construction and fund selection committees.He has over 25 years’ experience, including roles at Gartmore, BestInvest and Baring Asset Management, and specialises in multi-asset real return investing. Throughout his career he has been a key mentor for younger analysts and enjoys watching them progress on to their own successful careers. In his spare time, James enjoys clay pigeon shooting, mountain biking and spending time with his family.

  • Rachel John-Charles

    Rachel joined City Asset Management in 2005 as a Receptionist and is now the Head of Human Resources and an Associate of the Chartered Institute Personnel and Development. Some of her highlights of her time in the role include improving employee engagement, HR’s response time and service quality. Being a big advocate of a healthy body and mind to support employees and their own wellbeing and is also the company’s Mental Health First Aider. Rachel enjoys being active in her spare time and boxing and HIIT workouts. She also has two children who keep her on her toes outside of the office.

  • Patsy Anang

    Patsy is the head of our CIS team, and uses her communication, planning and organisational skills to work closely with all the different teams within City Asset Management and deliver an excellent service to our clients. She joined the firm in 2009 and has over 30 years’ industry experience, including as a Personal Assistant / Administrator at Richfield’s Firth and Nationwide Building Society. Patsy is a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) and holds the CII Level 3 in Investment Operations. She enjoys sewing, gardening and baking in her spare time, as well as volunteering her time at church. Patsy’s biggest achievement to date is learning to swim just before the lockdown in 2020.
